Corpus Christi police are investigating a shooting on the city's southside.

The incident happened around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon in the 4000 block of Saratoga Boulevard near the Weber Road intersection.

Corpus Christi police say a man was possibly shot in the buttocks.

Police added after the shooting a man was seen running away from the location.

When investigators arrived at the scene, the victim told them he just bought a battery and was loading it into his vehicle when three men came up to him and shot at him six times.

Police say the victim had his eight-year-old inside a car at the time of the shooting.

Police are at the scene and gathering additional evidence of the suspected shooter.

Lieutenant Art Trevino, with the Corpus Christi Police Department, says the man injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.
