CORPUS CHRISTI -

Corpus Christi area residents in search of a good deal made their way to a popular local rummage sale on Saturday.

Over at the corner of Staples Street and Holly Road, the Junior League of Corpus Christi hosted its annual Rummage Sale but this year the event was a bit different.

"(The) neat thing about this one, thanks for Bill Durill, who let us borrow this church at no cost," explained Sandi Hoot, with the Junior League. "It has little different rooms, so we have electronics, children's books, and we got all kinds of stuff (sic) and it was a great turnout."

The Junior League event offered bargain hunters a shot at furniture, home decorations, children's clothing, wedding dresses, electronics and other items.

Organizers said that money raised from the event will go to fund future projects to help the community.
