Veterans get a hand over at 3rd annual Veteran's Resource Fair
CORPUS CHRISTI -
Local veterans got some much-needed help over at Del Mar College on Saturday.
The 3rd annual Veterans Resource Fair was held at DMC's Harvin Center, serving as a one-stop location for veterans to learn about what benefits and resources are available to them.
Organizers said the fair offered a myriad of resources, such as services to seek help with post-traumatic stress disorder or programs to continue their education.
"Honestly, when I made that transition, you are always looking for that good point of contact right? That's kinda hard, some structure to follow," explained E.J. Good, Director of DMC's Veteran Services. "Expect for Del Mar College to be a staple in this community," he described, "where everyone know(s) where it's located and show(s) up and say(s) 'hey, I'm here and I want to know more information about this,' and it makes it a whole lot easier for everyone, and also to ease with (the) transition process and help them out along the way."
The event was hosted by Nueces County Veteran's Services and Del Mar College Veteran's Services.
