A gag order has been issued in the case of Dacota Deaver.

He's the man charged with manslaughter and criminal negligent homicide in the death of Cecilia Stanford.

According to court records, Deaver was using his phone last October when he hit the victim.

Her car had broken down on FM 624 in front of Calallen High School.

Stanford was the sister of Nueces County Clerk Kara Sands.

At a hearing, the judge ordered everyone involved in the case to stop talking about it publicly.

Deaver previously pleaded not guilty to both charges.

No trial date has been set.
