The Corpus Christi International Airport has a new security upgrade.

A new security exit lane system was installed Friday.

This new exit will make sure that passengers who have just arrived don't get back into the secured side of the airport as they're leaving the terminal.

The system uses infrared technology to monitor the flow of passengers, and if it detects someone going in the wrong direction, an alarm will sound and doors will be shut down and locked.

Until now, the exit lane has been monitored by TSA officers.
