The years-long battle to re-develop the old Pharaoh Valley Country Club into the proposed Barisi Village Project remains tied up in the courts.
The proposed development is called "Barisi Village" which would be built to look like an Italian village-style community with shops, housing, restaurants and a 9-hole golf course.
But the project has faced opposition from day one. There were deed restrictions that required the land to remain a golf course and country club and although a majority of Pharaoh Valley homeowners voted to change those restrictions, a handful of residents opposed to the idea filed a federal lawsuit to throw out that vote.
Both sides are trying to get a judge to make a ruling before a lawsuit goes to trial in April in what's called a summary judgement.
District Judge Nanette Hasette is expected to decide about whether to issue a summary judgement before the scheduled trial date.
