Coordinators for the Harbor Bridge Project are reminding drivers that a portion of Interstate 37 will be closed nightly while work on the project continues.
The main lanes of IH 37 will be closed nightly between Up River Road and Port Avenue on Saturday, March 3 and Sunday, March 4 as part of the Harbor Bridge Project.
This is a full freeway closure.
Project coordinators say the closures will take place overnight beginning at 9 p.m. and ending at 6 a.m. and are necessary to complete demolition of the current Stillman Pedestrian Bridge.
Frontage roads will remain open and detours will be in place.
The Stillman Pedestrian Bridge will be rebuilt and is expected to open to the public by late August 2018.
Coordinators are advising motorists to be aware of the lane closures, to consider using alternate routes, to follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones.
