Juvenile charged with making felony terroristic threat after high school bomb scare

Posted: Updated:

An arrest warrant has been issued for a juvenile for making a bomb threat to Aransas Pass High School on Friday, Feb. 23.

A statement from the Aransas Pass Police Department says they got a warrant for a 16-year-old who is being charged with felony terroristic threat.

The threat was written on a bathroom wall at Aransas Pass High School last Friday. The school was evacuated and searched by APPD and a San Patricio County bomb dog. No device was found.

APISD said they appreciate the swift action taken by APPD. School district staff was able to gather evidence and narrow a list of students down to the one responsible.

APISD says all threats are taken seriously and will be worked "to the max." Chief Blanchard previously said the charge is punishable by a $10,000 fine and 2-10 years in jail.
