This Saturday the Nueces County Veterans Services, Del Mar College Veterans Services, and the Veterans Administration are teaming up to host their annual Veterans Resource Fair.
This 3rd annual event will take place on Saturday, March 3rd, from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M., at Del Mar CollegeEast Campus Harvin Center.
This FREE Veterans Resource Fair is designed to educate Veterans and their dependents on the benefits and resources available to them.
"If they miss something during their transition brief, this is the opportunity where they can come back, ask the questions," said Nueces County Veterans Service Officer Martin A. Longoria.
Exhibitors will be on hand to talk with veterans about health care, education and other benefits available from the federal government and the state.
"This is the opportunity for veterans and their dependents to come out, get information on veteran benefits, education, land board, questions on VA claims, and signing veterans up for VA health care. The Vet Center will be here providing counseling services, and what you need to do to sign up for burial at Coastal Bend Veterans State Cemetery. We have the Texas Women's program here. It is a multitude of agencies that are providing different information to whatever the veteran needs," said Longoria.
The goal is to provide veterans and their families with access to resources earned through their service to the United States.
"These services are out there for you. We all come together to give you that information. The goal is to provide the information to the veterans and their dependents," said Longoria.
Last year 120 veterans attended the Veterans Resource Fair. This year they are expecting more than 200 veterans to attend.
