For two players who love the game of hockey, it's easy to see why. They both grew up with a dad who loved the sport just as much as they did. So much so that they played hockey themselves. Blake Coffey, defenceman for the Icerays is the son of Hall of Famer, Paul Coffey. And Conor Yawney, son of Trent Yawney, current hockey coach and former captain of team Canada in the 1988 Olympic Winter Games.
Although, they never actually got to see their dads play, they are constantly getting the advice and tips from the former NHL players.
Neither Blake nor Conor will tell you their dads played in the NHL, because to them, it doesn't matter and "no one really cares" as Conor says.
But either way, it is pretty cool to have some legends skate on the Corpus Christi ice.
