Since 1994, Mission of Mercy has been providing free prescription medication, health and dental care to the uninsured, under insured and those who fall through the cracks of our health care system in the Coastal Bend. This weekend, they will celebrate two big events that will propel them into the future!
On Friday, March 2nd, MOM will hold their annual fundraising event, MASH Bash, aboard USS Lexington.
The casual medical-themed event will begin at 6:00 PM, and will give guests the opportunity to dress as their favorite character from the television show, M*A*S*H. Medical scrubs, military fatigues, nursing uniforms and camo outfits will be just a part of some of the imaginative costuming you can expect to see!
The evening will include dinner, dancing, a silent auction and a raffle. There will also be table decoration and costume contests, as well as special games and awards.
Entertainment will be provided by Cruise Control and The Sweet Adelines. KRIS 6 News Sunrise Anchors Mike Gillaspia, Jennifer Lira and Maclovio Perez will serve as the Masters of Ceremony.
Then on Saturday, March 3rd, friends and supporters of MOM will once again gather, along with the community, to dedicate their new Mission of Mercy Medical Center (2421 Ayers Street). The ribbon-cutting will take place at Noon.
