Each year, the local YWCA seeks to recognize local women who are making a significant impact in their career field with the Y Women in Careers Award. The principle behind the award is that recognition is an important part of professional success.
Across 38 years, 276 exceptional women have been honored with this award in the Coastal Bend.
Those who lead the YWCA point to the fact that doing so is a natural part of their mission of "eliminating racism and empowering women." It is also a way to show young girls that while none of us is born successful, leaders are those who can help us all move forward constructively by seeing opportunities instead of problems, and making positive decisions.

The Y Women in Careers Awards Banquet will take place at 6:00 PM Thursday, March 1st at the Congressman Solomon P. Ortiz International Center (402 Harbor Drive).
Seats are $100 each.
As one of the YWCA's major fundraisers, Y Women in Careers offers invaluable support for YWCA programs, and communicates the essential role the YWCA plays in our community.
