Named the 'Birdiest City in the United States' for more than a decade now, it only stands to reason that Corpus Christi should host its own birding festival. Now, for the second year in a row, that is exactly what the South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center (8545 S. Staples Street) plans to do.
The 'Birdiest Festival in America' is happening April 19th through 22nd.
The weekend will feature birding workshops, a trade show, guest speakers and field trips.
It all begins at 1:30 PM on Thursday and runs through Sunday at Noon. A $35 per person basic registration fee covers an opening reception/dinner on Thursday, seminars/special talks, a birding trade show, vendor tent, arts/crafts booths, “Raptor Project” shows and Botanical Gardens admission, and a family fun area.
Optional, separately-priced features include birding and photography field trips.
On-line registration and more detailed information -- including a complete schedule -- may be found at www.BirdiestFestival.com or by calling (361) 852-2100.
