Corpus Christi Police Officers say a man connected to a homicide investigation is in custody.
Police say they were called over to the Spohn South Hospital in reference to a dead 24-year-old female with bruising to her body back on Feb 1, 2018. The family members have identified the victim as 24-year-old Leeann Torres. They also said Leeann left behind a son and a daughter.
Detectives arrived at the hospital and talked to a 26-year-old male suspect.
The man was taken to the main police station where he was interviewed and released. After three days, Detectives said they received the autopsy report and developed enough probable cause to have a murder warrant issued.
On Sunday, officers with San Patricio County arrested Steven Urias for the murder warrant and transported him to the San Patricio County Jail.
Police say this is still an ongoing investigation and there is no further information at this time.
This is still a developing story, and we will provide updates when more information becomes available.
