Children believed to be living out of box truck expected in court today

Posted: Updated:

An adversary hearing will be held for three children suspected of living in a box truck with their mother.

Their mother, Lisa Long, was arrested for child endangerment Monday, January 29th, after police got a tip that a family was living in a rental box truck.

Two adults and three children were in the truck when police found it at a convenience store on Prescott and Gollihar Road.

Child Protective Services has since stepped in, and will hold a hearing at County Court in Law 5 later today.

The Adversary Hearing is the first hearing for children after they have been taken into possession by CPS.

It must take place within 14 days of the children being removed from your home.

On Friday, February 12th, Long appeared in court.

Long was given a court appointed attorney after she told the Judge David Stith she couldn't afford one.

The 48-year old is being held in the Nueces County Jail on a $6,000 bond.
