CORPUS CHRISTI -

Twenty-four hours later, nobody knows what set Marco Moreno off.

“We deal with human beings, we cannot predict human beings,” said Pastor Janson Abraham of Kingdom Acts Ministries.

Pastor Abraham was in another room when witnesses said Moreno attacked 61 year-old church leader Frank Castillo. during a service  Castillo later died at the hospital.

“He was a helpful man, you could just call him and he was always available,” said Abraham of Castillo. “A very good father, a very good husband, a very good brother.  He will be dearly missed.”

Another victim was also taken to the hospital in serious condition; two others, including Abraham were hurt trying to subdue Moreno.

“My initial thing was to somehow stop this individual,” said Abraham.  “I held this guy actually, and brought him to the door and stopped him.”

Moreno's mother was also at the service.  KRIS 6 News went to her home for comment, but we were mt by Abraham who asked for privacy for the family.

“She's a part of our congregation, so it's hard for all of us,” said Abraham.  “We have to stand together.”

The pastor performed Moreno's baptism last year.  Abraham says Moreno often came to pray with his mother, and despite what police accuse Moreno of, Abraham says he and his congregation will do their best to forgive.

“We can all make mistakes, we can all be misled,” said Abraham.  “I pray whatever he has committed, we are willing to forgive him.”
