A morning walk got a bit scary for one man earlier today.
The man was crossing Baldwin Boulevard near Port Avenue around 7 a.m. when he was hit by a car.
Police say he was not using the crosswalk, and the driver that hit him had just turned onto Baldwin from Port.
Police say the injured pedestrian refused to go to the hospital, and just had some bumps and bruises.
“The citizens of Corpus Christi need to understand that if you're walking and you're going to cross the street, you need to use the crosswalk,” said CCPD Traffic Division Officer Richard Olden. “That is your protection. If you don't do that, you're at the mercy of that car. You just can't step out in the middle of the street. You have laws as a pedestrian also.”
No citation was issued against the driver.
