Funeral service to be held for Korean War veteran

The Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery is inviting the public to honor the service of a Korean War era veteran on February 14 at 11 a.m.

 Cpl. Howard Mason Lyman, of Bay City, served with the 1901st Engineer Aviation Battalion. His awards include the Korean Service Medal and the U.N. Service Medal.

According to the Matagorda County Veterans Service Office, no family could be found for Lyman.

The Coastal Bend State Veteran’s Cemetery is, inviting the public to the funeral as part of their commitment to ensure that no veteran is left behind.

The cemetery says they are coordinating the delivery of full military honors for the funeral, and have asked the Patriot Guard Riders of South Texas to provide a flag line.

The Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery is located at 9974 I-37 Access Road in Corpus Christi.
