It’s a tough life for law enforcement, trying to protect and serve all while safety is the utmost importance.
Safety being the number one priority for all officers, including the K9’s.
Luckily, for one K9 at the Nueces County Sheriff’s Office, she will continuously have body armor, all thanks to a non-profit organization.
Nuve, a happy-healthy yellow lab, received one of these vests. As a BDD, bomb detection dog, Nuve is always in the thick of danger.
This organization, Vested Interest in K9’s, has a mission to help protect all law enforcement K9’s by providing bullet and stab proof vests.
These vests are equipped with durable material to help protect all the vital organs of the dog. They typically range in price between $1700-$2200 and have a 5 year warranty.
Nuve received the vest from an anonymous donor through Vested Interest in K9’s.
A donation of $950 will make it possible to provide a vest for a law enforcement K9.
