Family believes missing man was victim of foul play

CORPUS CHRISTI -

Bryan Gomez can't understand why anyone would want to hurt his father.

“He kept to himself,” said Gomez.  “He's a good man and a very religious person, you can ask anybody."

Jesus Gomez lived in a trailer in Bryan's yard.    When Bryan went to check on his father Saturday night, Jesus wasn't there; instead, Bryan found blood and brain matter on his father's bed.  What followed were two days of uncertainty and little sleep.

“I wake up screaming, feeling like I got hit in the head,” said Gomez.  “I keep hearing my dad's voice saying 'I'm ok'.”

On Tuesday, police confirmed to Bryan his father wasn’t ok.  A body found outside a burned out home near Robstown belonged to Jesus.

“He was the one that would say 'don't worry, I'll show you how’,” said Gomez.  “Who's my father figure to show me how to be a man now?”

Bryan believes his father was murdered, he also believes police will find whoever is responsible.

“I'm keeping strong faith in them that they'll bring justice to my father,” said Gomez.

And police determine someone was responsible for Jesus’ death, Bryan has message for whoever is responsible.

“Do what's right,” said Gomez.  “If it was your family, you would want somebody to turn themselves in, so do what's right and turn yourself in.”

A female victim was also found by firefighters, but police haven’t identified her.  It’s also unknown if, or how, she’s connected to Gomez.
