The local Cost Plus World Market will close their doors for good this spring.
In a voice mail recording, the store, located at 5425 S. Padre Island Drive, says they will be closing on March 24 and will offer "unbeatable liquidation deals" on unique furniture and décor until then.
The first Cost Plus World Market opened in 1958 in San Francisco by a businessman turned traveler who sold imported goods on the city's piers.
It is unclear why the store is closing at this time. Cost Plus World Market operates over 270 stores nationwide.
