A woman was taken to a local hospital after falling from a cliff near the Nueces River.
First responders were called out to a woman who was injured near the waters in between Hazel Bazemore Park and Labonte Park just before 6:00 p.m. Saturday.
There, a woman was found with injuries reportedly sustained after she fell from a nearby cliff while trying to catch a skateboard. Because of the location and the height of the cliff, rescue teams dispatched a boat crew to reach her from nearby Nueces River.
Rescue crews launched their boat over at the Hazel Bazemore Park boat ramp to get access to the area where the woman was injured. She was then transported back to shore.
Medics then took her to a local hospital from the scene at around 6:30 p.m.
The full extent of her injuries was not known at time of writing. We will update this story with further details as soon as we're able.
