Thursday is UIL realignment day and all area schools will be affected. No one really knows what will happen until the envelopes are opened at 9 a.m. We do know that district 30-5a will change drastically. A new wrinkle in class 5a football only starts next fall. Division I and Division II districts will be created.
"Our six CCISD schools we know will be division I," said CCISD Athletic Director Brenda Marshall. "You would think Flour Bluff will join us since they are also division I. So the big question is will it be a seven or nine team district because there's a chance they could add Victoria East and West?."
"I think the four of us, Calallen, GP, TM and Alice which are division II wind going north," said Calallen head coach Phil Danaher. But you never know, we will find out Thursday morning at 9 a.m.
