If playing a round of golf with a sports celebrity is on your list of things to do this year, then make plans to be in Portland on Saturday, April 14th.

That's when The Wyms Foundation (lead by former NFL player and Super Bowl champion Ellis Wyms) will help host a Celebrity NFL/NBA Player benefit golf tournament at Northshore Country Club (801 E. Broadway Ave.).

For a $1,000 entry fee, a team of four will be joined by a current or former NFL or NBA player for a day on the green. An individual entry is $250.

The shotgun start begins at 1:00 PM and will be followed by dinner and a silent auction.

Proceeds will go to help schools, teachers and students most impacted by Hurricane Harvey, through the Education Foundations for Aransas County, Port Aransas and Gregory-Portland.

Sponsorships are still needed and tax-deductible donations may be made to The Wyms Foundation and will be accepted through United Charities, a 501(c)(3) organization.

To learn more, contact Becky Mays locally at (361) 643-1546 or DeeDee Wyms at (832) 610-4565. You may also email SouthTexasGolf@TheWymsFoundation.org.
