At 77, she's still a competitive skeet shooter

Posted: Updated:

For 30 years, Helen Swetman did not even compete in skeet shooting. And now, at the age of 77, she has been named to over two dozen All-State and All-American teams as well as over 15 awards.

Helen Swetman, first started shooting in high school, all thanks to her father. What was first going to be a practice for duck hunting, soon turned into a life long journey of competitive skeet shooting.

In 1957, Swetman attended her first World Shoot in Reno, NV. Since then, she's been hooked and has attended 23 World Shoots.

Swetman loves shooting, but she truly enjoys spending time outdoors and being around people who love the sport as much as she does.

This year in October, Swetman will be inducted into the National Skeet Shooting Hall of Fame, which is the highest honor received for anyone in the sport.
