The federal government is moving ahead on a plan to lease oil and gas parcels in and around Choke Canyon reservoir, despite protests from the City of Corpus Christi and an environmental watchdog group.
Concerns that fracking activities might lead to groundwater - and reservoir - contamination are fueling those protests. However, 6 Investigates has learned the protests have not derailed plans to lease more than a thousand acres around the lake.
