One person was taken to the hospital this morning after slamming into the back of an 18-wheeler.
The accident happened on FM 624 just before 8 a.m.
A State Trooper on scene said the driver of an 18-wheeler pulled over to the shoulder on the east bound side of FM 624 and put on his hazard lights because he was blinded by the sun.
The driver of Cadillac then veered into the shoulder and struck the 18-wheeler from behind. The impact caused the Cadillac to spin around and then hit a Mustang head-on, according to officials on scene.
"According to the driver of the 18-wheeler, he couldn't see so that's why he parked on the shoulder,"the State Trooper on scene said. "So at this point we are assuming the person in the Cadillac may have, you know, been blinded by the sun and veered off into the shoulder."
The driver of the Cadillac was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Authorities will determine if any citations will be given after an investigation.
