CORPUS CHRISTI -

The fun continues during the 2017-2018 season of the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra, as everyone is invited to join the CCSO for an exclusive opportunity to purchase one-of-a-kind masterpieces from artists who are celebrated both locally and nationally.

It is an exciting project that began by having local artists use their creativity to transform five old, unplayable stringed instruments, whose melodic lives had come to an end. The instruments were paired with Dinah Bowman, Dr. Arnold Gonzales, Dr. Barry McBurnett, Guy Morrow, and Mary Anne Sinclair, who have now turned them into beautiful works of art.

Each violin tells a different story, and portrays a vision that is unique to the artist who has worked to give it new life. These violins are sure to become collectors’ items for those who are able to obtain one, and will be auctioned off on Friday, January 19th at the Corpus Christi Country Club (6300 Everhart Road).

A cocktail hour will begin at 6:30 PM, followed by dinner at 7:30 PM. The painted violins will be auctioned live at 8:30 PM.

Tickets are $125 each, and a table of 8 may be purchased for $1,000.

To learn more, call the CCSO office at (361) 882-2717.
