It doesn't get any easier for a Corpus Christi family that's recounting something so painful.
This Saturday marks three years since the murder of 13 year-old Alex Torres. Someone shot and killed him when he answered the door at his home, in the Treyway Apartments.
Back in 2016, investigators charged two people in the crime, but the case hasn't gone to trial.
Today, we spoke with Alex's family who says they constantly struggle with Alex's loss as they try to find closure.
"I'm still in a lot of pain but eventually I'm going to forgive them because I have to forgive in order for Jesus to forgive me." Yolanda Quiroz, Alex's grandmother, said.
The court date for the two people charged with his murder, David Davila and Christina Trevino is scheduled for sometime in April. Both are currently in jail, charged with capital murder and being held on $500,000 bonds.
