Our Pet of the Week comes to us from Corpus Christi Animal Care Services, and she brings with her a rather unique look.
Olive arrived at CCACS missing an ear. Although no one there knows for sure how it happened, it has not hindered this 5-year-old American Staffordshire mix in the least. She has a sweet demeanor and loves to play!
It also appears that Olive has already had a litter of puppies. She has since been spayed and is ready for adoption.
As is the case with many of the strays from this area who are brought into the CCACS facility, Olive is heartworm-positive. It is a condition that is easily treatable, and whoever chooses to adopt this girl will be given the guidance they need to keep her healthy.
To learn how to adopt any of the animals at the 2626 Holly Road facility, just drop by any Monday through Saturday from 1:00 to 6:00 PM. You are welcome to bring your children or any current pets you have, in order to spend time with any animal you may be thinking of adopting. Then, if you happen to connect with a pet you would like to take home, simply fill out an application.
Whether you choose Olive or any of the other animals at CCACS, remember that it is important to take care of your pets during cold weather. In fact, it is against the law to keep your pet outside without a shelter when temperatures drop below freezing.
