Freezing temperatures bringing more cold-stunned sea turtles
Freezing temperatures are once again putting local sea turtles at risk of cold-stunning
Sixty-seven cold-stunned turtles were found in area waters today.
Sadly, two of them were dead, but the rest were taken to Padre Island National Seashore’s Sea Turtle Lab, where they’ll be stabilized, documented and moved to rehabilitation facilities like the Texas State Aquarium.
If you happen to come across a cold-stunned sea turtle, call the Sea Turtle Lab at 361- 949-8173 extension 226.
