A tough group of about 200 swimmers took a dip in the icy water of Corpus Christi Bay at high noon this New Year’s Day.
They were taking part in the annual Corpus Christi Polar Bear Plunge.
To get their blood warmed up a bit, the Corpus Christi Road Runners held a fun run before the plunge.
The North Beach Polar Bear Plunge wasn't just for fun; it helped raised money for the fight against ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
The money collected today will be used for research to find a cure.
