A Canadian couple completed the annual Corpus Christi Roadrunners Half-Marathon this weekend but it's not the first time they've pulled off such a run.
It was a simple 13.1 mile marathon along Shoreline Blvd. in Corpus Christi, but for Craig and Bobbi Skrynyk it represented something more. The couple has completed 81 half marathons so far and every one was before they've reached age 50.
The Skrynyk's traveled to compete in Corpus Christi's annual half all the way from Canada but their original goal started 11 years ago. That's when the couple decided to set their sights on running 50 half marathons before they turned 50 years old. Since then, they've raised the stakes.
"We got to 50 half marathons well before we both turned 50," explained Craig Skrynyk. "So, we thought what better thing to do than to maybe raise the bar higher. But instead of just making a little higher we decided to double it and make it 100 half marathons before we turn 50."
With the completion of this weekend's run, the couple only has 19 more races to go.
