Just a reminder, officers will be out in full force this weekend looking for drunk drivers.
The Corpus Christi Police Department is teaming up with the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Nueces County District Attorney's office for that crackdown.
At a press conference held by local law enforcement agencies, officials said you can expect to see lots of officers and Troopers on the road this New Year's weekend.
“If you are not responsible enough to find a designated driver, we will find a place for you,” said CCPD Capt. David Blackmon. “We will have a record amount of officers out there and you will go to jail.”
CCPD says that blood draws for alcohol tests will be conducted at the city detention center.
According to CCPD, probable cause for a DWI arrest or blood draw warrant include, but are not limited to, driver smelling of alcohol, slurred speech, evidence of intoxication from standardized field sobriety test, or traffic violations by the driver.
