Teen struck by car on Saratoga has died

The boy that was hit by a car while crossing Saratoga last Thursday has died, his coach confirmed.

Joshua Earls, 14, was walking with friends and decided to cross Saratoga Blvd. outside of a crosswalk, between Weber and Everhart on Dec. 21.

Earls was hit by a car while crossing Saratoga. He was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition, where he slipped into a coma. He passed away on Thursday.

Earls was a student at Grant Middle School and a running back with South Texas Heat Select Youth Football. 

His teammates will be holding a benefit Saturday for medical costs and funeral expenses.
