Smoke machine fills nightclub with smoke while no one was inside

CORPUS CHRISTI -

An odd scene played out at a nightclub Sunday morning as the sight of smoke was seen coming from a building.

Corpus Christi Fire Department responded to a smoke alarm call at a nightclub in the 1800 block of Ennis Joslin Road.

As fire investigators showed up, it turns out the smoke was not caused by something burning but rather a smoke machine that turned on in the popular nightclub.

Police say the smoke machine inside the club somehow had turned on when no one was in the building and filled the area with smoke. The smoke then filled another part of the shopping center.

Senior Officer Victor Casares, with the Corpus Christi Police Department, said," That's a first for me. usually, it's something burning or something electrical, lucky it was just a smoke machine."

Luckily there was no damage.
