Thousands gathered for a massive holiday feast at the American Bank Center on Saturday, on H-E-B's tab.
The grocery chain's annual Feast of Sharing was held at American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, inviting residents to join their community for a holiday meal on a grand scale.
More than 3,000 pounds of turkey, almost 400 gallons of mashed potatoes and 750 pumpkin pies along with trimmings went into the event as thousands stopped by for a bite. H-E-B had prepared to serve 10,000 people at the event.
"Everybody gets to come together from all walks of life. Get a great meal, hot meal. Entertainment, kids activities, a lot of social services to help people out. It's just a great thing," explained Bill Mosely, Crew Chief with H-E-B Mobile Kitchen.
The Feast of Sharing began in Corpus Christi 29 years ago but today H-E-B serves meals in 33 cities across the state during the holiday season.
