For the 11th consecutive year, "Christmas in Bee County," will help over 100 families and 300 children who need a little extra help this holiday season.
“We get to go see these families, we'll drop this stuff off and just get to see the happiness there, and spread the Christmas cheer,” said Beeville Sheriff Southmayd,
Over a dozen local businesses aided in the purchase of toys and approximately $100 worth of groceries that included a holiday ham and turkey.
All hands are were on deck to unload a stocked 18-wheeler of these supplies. Beeville firefighters, police officers, volunteers, and veterans all showed up to hand deliver the goodies.
“It's because we want to give back to the community and all the support they give to us as Veterans and our special needs too so we want to give back as much as possible,” Beeville Veteran, Joe Lopez told KRIS.
One H-E-B volunteer says he remembers the very moment he had a hand in helping create today.
“I love kids, I love Santa, I've loved Santa ever since I was little,” said Louis Longoria, an employee and volunteer told KRIS.
The special delivery was dropped off by Santa himself in a Beeville county fire truck.
