Pet of the Week: Amante

Amante Amante

Corpus Christi Animal Care Services is looking for permanent homes for the animals they care for, including our featured Pet of the Week.

Amante may be best described as "substantial." This boy is solid! He is an athletically-built 2-year-old American Staffordshire mix who loves to play fetch with the tennis ball.

As is the case with many of the strays from this area who are brought into the CCACS facility, Amante is heartworm-positive. It is a condition that is easily treatable, and whoever chooses to adopt this guy will be given the guidance they need to keep him healthy.

A reminder for those who may be thinking of bringing home a puppy or a kitten for Christmas: Having a pet can easily be a 10-year commitment. It is important to count the cost ahead of time and make sure that adding an animal to your family is move for which you are ready.

To learn how to adopt any of the animals at the 2626 Holly Road facility, just drop by any Monday through Saturday from 1:00 to 6:00 PM. You are welcome to bring your children or any current pets you have, in order to spend time with any animal you may be thinking of adopting. Then, if you happen to connect with a pet you would like to take home, simply fill out an application.

It is also worth noting the CCACS is always looking for additional volunteers to help with a variety of jobs that are currently available.
