Corpus Christi Hooks name new General Manager

The Corpus Christi Hooks have named a new General Manager.

The Astros Senior Director of Business Operations, Dan O’Neill announced today that Wes Weigle has been appointed as the team’s new GM.

Weigle, who is an Army veteran and graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, worked previously as an operations associate focused on strategic and financial projects for the Astros minor league properties.

“Wes brings a passion for excellence and unmatched leadership abilities that will serve the organization well,” O’Neill said. “He is determined to connect with our fans and to create unique and memorable experiences for them at Whataburger Field.”

    It has been ten years since Calallen became the first area high school to get artificial turf at its football stadium. Now, it's time to replace it thanks to a 40 million dollar plus bond issue that was passed by voters back in November. A new all weather track is also being installed at Phil Danaher Field. But it's just not athletics which benefits from the bond issue.
