CORPUS CHRISTI -

A free Family Fun Day is expected to draw children of all ages to The Art Museum of South Texas this weekend.

The event is part of the 8th Annual Christmas Tree Forest: A Reading Wonderland, sponsored in part by H-E-B and the Junior League of Corpus Christi. Christmas trees are on display, each decorated to mirror the themes of children's books chosen by local school children.

This celebration of literacy takes place Saturday, December 9th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Art Museum (1902 N. Shoreline Blvd.). H-E-Buddy goodie bags will be presented to the first 2,000 children who attend, while supplies last. There will also be Christmas music, live entertainment and a special appearance by Santa.

Individuals will be able to vote for their favorite tree decorated by local students based on a children's book. The Christmas Tree Forest will be on display through Wednesday, December 13th.
