CCPD, Homeland Security conduct investigation at south side home

Posted: Updated:

Numerous law enforcement officials were at a local home this morning conducting a joint investigation between the Corpus Christi Police Department and Homeland Security, according to officers on scene.

Residents in the area said they woke to loud booms and shouting over a megaphone on the 6700 block of Deerwood Drive around 6:20 this morning.

Not much information is know at this time, but the scene is close to an elementary school.

The principal for Club Estates Elementary, Kay Bircher, says classes will start as normal but they will have an increased security presence on campus today.
