Two men are in jail after officers say they robbed a convenience store overnight.

The crime happened at the Stripes on Yorktown and Cimarron just before 2 a.m.

Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department say a customer in the parking lot saw the men wearing bandanas run into the store. The men apparently pulled a gun and robbed the store.

Officers say the men got away with some unusual items.

"Several cartons of cigarettes, supposedly some money from the drop box or the changer, I'm still a little confused on that. But, um, a banana..." Lt. Daniel Garcia said.

The men were pulled over in their getaway vehicle less than 10 minutes later on Airline and South Padre Island Drive. Officers say the clerk and the witness were able to identify the men.

Both men were taken to jail and charged with aggravated robbery.
