Christmas came early for students over at Menger Elementary.

On Tuesday morning, the Port of Corpus Christi threw the kids a party and Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and Pocca the Pelican stopped by. The children placed their Christmas ornaments on the school's tree. Then, they asked Santa for bikes, dolls, Shopkins and slime.

The Port's Director of Operations Kresten Cook helped hang ornaments on the school's tree. Cook said, "It's (the party) is a wonderful start of the Christmas season."

Every year, the Port of Corpus Christi holds Christmas celebrations at schools it has adopted. The Port has been adopting schools in our area for more than 20 years.
