Students and volunteers with the Parent and Teacher Association (PTA) at Windsor Park Elementary booked a big donation Monday afternoon.
They sent hundreds of used and new books to Refugio Elementary School. The school was one of many buildings in Refugio that sustained lots of damage during Hurricane Harvey in August. The library, in particular, lots hundreds of books.
On Monday, families and students from Windsor Park sent more than 200 new and used books to Refugio.
"I'm really glad that they brought some of these books," said one student.
Part of the donations were acquired through the school's "All for Books" campaign during its Scholastic Book Fair this fall. The campaign allows students and their families to give cash donations to pay for books for underprivileged students.
One student at Refugio said the books came at the perfect time.
"We have some old books and these are new books, and I really want to read them."
