The office that handles utility payments for the City of Corpus Christi will be undergoing a software transition that will affect how customers can pay their bills for the next few weeks.
According to the city’s Utility Business Office, until further notice, customers will not be able to make payments through the city’s website payment portal, through the interactive phone payment system, or in person at city hall.
Payments can be made at Corpus Christi H-E-Bs, through the mail using utility statement provided envelope, or using online bill pay services through a bank or credit union.
The city says because of the inconvenience, no late fees or shut-offs for non-payment will occur until the transition is complete.
The Utility Business Office says the bulk of the transition is expected to take two to three weeks, and they will notify the public when payment services are available.
The city is encouraging customers to continue to make their monthly utility payment using one of the methods listed above.
The city also says customers should not be alarmed if the billing statements have a new appearance, account number, arrival time, due date, or if they receive duplicate billing statements due to the software conversion.
