Round 3 of football playoffs for area high schools

These are the area high school football teams remaining for the UIL Football Playoff run:

CC Veterans Memorial vs Foster at Victoria Memorial Stadium, in Victoria on December 2, 2 pm

Flour Bluff vs Angleton at Bobcat Stadium in San Marcos, December 1, 7:30 pm

Alice vs Austin McCallum at Alamodome on December 2, 12 pm

Calallen vs Kerrville Tivy at Alamodome on December 2, 4 pm

Refugio vs Holland at Gustafson Stadium in San Antonio, December 1, 7 pm

The real exciting news comes if Flour Bluff and Veterans Memorial win their games, they will play each other in the next round. If Calallen and Alice win both of their games, they too, will play each other in the next round.

    Cowboys qb Dak Prescott  is all too familiar with cancer, having lost his mother to the terrible disease. That is why he is joining an awareness campaign called ready, raise and rise hoping to invite people to show their inner power to rise up against cancer. Alan Harwell visited with Prescott via satellite about the Cowboys and his campaign to help people fight the disease mentally and physically.

    It's official, the Carroll Tigers have a new head football coach. Their fourth in the past four years. Juan Rodriguez takes over the reigns after A.J. Martinez resigned to become an assistant athletic director for the U.I.L.  He is a familiar face and highly respected in South Texas. He served as the Tigers defensive coordinator last season.
