The West Oso Independent School District is moving forward with a proposed all-girls school.
During Monday night's meeting school board members listened to a presentation by the Young Women's Preparatory Network.
The group recently approached West Oso ISD about opening one of its all-girls schools in the district, one which would also be open to girls from neighboring school districts.
West Oso's superintendent says Monday's meeting was just the first step in a lengthy process.
“We haven't made any final decisions, until the board decides what to do next, we'll continue to explore it,” said Superintendent Conrado Garcia.
The board unanimously approved a motion to continue exploring the feasibility of an all-girls school. If they eventually approve the idea, the goal would be to have the school open by the second semester of the 2018-19 school year.
