OKLAHOMA CITY -

A wild west chase left a car thief and police kicking up dust in Oklahoma.

Authorities say the pursuit began Friday morning and led officials through Metro Oklahoma City for about three hours.

The man reached high speeds throughout the chase and officers deployed stop sticks at one point, but the suspect drove around them.

The suspect drove through several fields to escape police, where he repeatedly drove off then stopped again.

At one point, the suspect exits the vehicle and appears to be talking on the phone, and a little later, he gets out and spray paints something on the windshield.

Eventually, the suspect drove into a pond and got out of the pick-up truck -- leading officers on a short foot chase.

Authorities say the suspect was stopped with a stun gun and taken into custody.
