Islander Volleyball win back at home after double game loss

Posted: Updated:

The Islander Volleyball team were back at home tonight at the Dugan Wellness Center, after coming off a double loss to Central Arkansas and Northwestern State.

The Ders hope to get back on the winning streak train, but know that it was more of a wake up call than anything else. "In our eyes we're just going to look at it as we're undefeated in our home court right now so we're just gonna keep going with that. I think it kind of gave us like, a wake up call that we needed so that we can get to the next level that we need to," says setter Kristyn Nicholson.

Well, that wake up call was needed and they dominated over Lamar tonight, winning three straight sets, 25-23, 25-21, 25-20

Tonight was also the annual Pink Match, a match designated to raise awareness for breast cancer. They gave away 500 pink t shirts this evening, and the entire Dugan was packed with pink attire.

The Ders look to face Stephen F Austin this Saturday afternoon at 1 pm, at the Dugan.
